Description: Commercial sector works.

Commercial warehousing and industrial unit refurbishment and extension works.

Scheme – Cornmill Shopping Centre, Darlington

Works Completed – 2010

Description of works:

Removing of structural shear wall and installation of new structural steel frame onto new piled foundations and concrete ringbeam. Works included within the scheme:

• Removing existing concrete foundations

• Installation of new piled foundations including reinforced concrete ringbeam

• Forming openings within structural wall by carrying out propping works

• Installation of structural steel to above openings including fire protection works

• All works carried out whilst the adjacent shopping centre remained open to the public

 

 

Scheme – The Biltmore Bar & Grill, 29 Swinegate, York

Works Completed – 2006

Description of works:

Conversion of the former Elim Pentecostal Church into a fashionable and stylish bar and restaurant within city centre location.

Works included within the scheme:

• Installation of chrome, glass and onyx back lit bar, dining booths

• Mezzanine floor with second bar

• Installation of WCs

• Full refurbishment

• Outside area

Scheme - Units 1-4, Shaw Lane Industrial Estate, Doncaster

Works Completed – 2009

Description of works:

Shaw Lane Industrial Estate comprises of four blocks of modern warehouse/production units, situated around a large yard and parking area. GEM worked for a pension fund on this scheme, which acquired industrial units – full refurbishment to a budget to ensure lettable condition.

Works included within the scheme:

• Removal of existing dilapidated machinery

• Refurbishment of all floors

• Re-cladding

• Repair of roller shutter doors

• Formation of office and canteen facilities in all four units
