York Minster Refectory

York Minster Refectory, previously Minster School, is a Grade II listed building that GEM fully refurbed and converted into a brasserie style restaurant.

The project included the installation of solar slates to the roof which forecast to produce 11,000 kwh of power a year on average. The energy accumulated from the solar slates feed into the invertors which subsequently feeds the hot water supplies to the washroom facilities. It is also the first listed building in York to have solar. GEM also supplied and installed a ASHP (Air source heat pump) located on the plant deck to serve power to the building. The ASHP supplies the underfloor heating system to the entrance lobby.
