Whitby Lighthouse

£86,000 repair and restoration project at grade II listed Whitby Lighthouse.

Work to restore the lighthouse was carried out by our specialist division Lanstone Conservation Ltd.  Work involved repairs to areas of the external stone work, internal works to glazing, windows and the staircase and also steelwork reinforcing.

The lighthouse became a Grade II listed structure in 1972 and was open to the public as a historic attraction up until its closure in 2012 due to the serious deterioration of its condition. Following the restoration, the lighthouse has now reopened to the public.
